COUNTRY ASSIGNMENT LIST AFTER 2nd BLUE DIVIDER!!!

Contest is underway until October 31st! After that, I won't be extending this because of a lack of participation. I'll just give my small number of points distributed evenly among those who did participate. I am not necessarily disappointed per say in the lack of participation since this was mostly a test contest to try to get things more lively in the group, I just didn't expect so few to actually do work . Nonetheless, I've let the gallery folders go for a good while so I apologize if your works have not been rated yet. I promise to get to those as soon as I can!! Please be patient since Administration has turned into a ghost town... I'm definitely a bit upset about that but things are the way they are. I'll get to ratings/critiques within the next few weeks. Thanks for your patience.
 
Well, in the last month we got a world record 1 entry for our AAtW contest!! That being said, we would like to get at least 5 entries in before any judging can occur, so we have extended the deadline until the end of October.
maybe the contest was a bad idea after since no one is really participating ...Is anyone really wanting to participate or did we all forget?


Hello my dear members of

It's been almost two years since this group has had an actual contest. Let's get back into that routine shall we? We plan on holding monthly contests and starting August 1st, the first contest will be under way!



This month we are celebrating the 2012 Olympic games in London and all of the joys that these sporting events (as well as the cultural diversity) bring to people of every represented nation of the world! For this month's contest, members will be randomly given a country participating in this year's Olympic Games and will have to come up with an artwork of any medium they choose that expresses their country's culture as aesthetically and as accurately as possible. This means you all have to do your research All members will be given a country, but participation is optional. So don't feel like you have to participate unless you want to As of now, we don't have any judges or prizes available except for admin contributions so if you  would rather judge pieces than participate, send the group a note letting us know so and we can adjust our list accordingly. ^^ All countries will be assigned a number and a random generator will be used to correspond them to the group's members. The initial deadline will be set at August 31st at 11:59PM EST. If there is a shortage of entries, rises, or judges, then this date will be extended to accommodate. The list will be posted when the contest begins.

A few important points and rules:

You must be an existing member of the group to participate. Sorry, but this makes contest organization much easier for us. We apologize for any inconvenience
The contest dates will be from August 1st - August 31st. End date is subject to change.
Participation is optional. We ask to limit 1 submission per entrant.
No asking for countries to reserve, take or switch. It's unfair to everyone else
All mediums are accepted.
All submissions must be submitted to the folder "AATW Contest" If not, we will decline your submission and remind you to place it in the correct folder. Just do it the first time to save time and hassle
If you would like to donate prizes, please note the group. Also if you would like to judge, please send us a note as well. Your participation in the contest will be voided and the country assigned to you will no longer be available. (Limited to 5 members)
A link for country assignments will be provided at the start of the contest.
No admins or raters will be participating in this contest to make it as fair as possible.
Any historical representations are welcome so long as elements are accurate for the time period.
Your judges and prize listings will be posted when they come in. If there is a sufficient amount, then they will be final by the end of the contest.



Judging Criteria

Your entry will be judged on a fair level in relation to other mediums. In other words, no one medium will have an advantage in our judging process. The main criteria we are looking for is how:
~accurately you capture the chosen aspects of that country's culture in your piece.
~well executed your piece is. All pieces will be sub-rated in the standard 1-to-10 format as if it were a normal submission to the group. Please check the respective medium's criteria for further details.
~the overall flow and organization of your piece.
~visually appealing your work is. It just may get Featured in the group as well as some forums
~(Depending on what consensus the other admins give, additional criteria may be added. This is only things from myself)




On a final note, if you have any issues or concerns about this contest, please send the group a note so we can discuss matters privately and in a civilized manner
